Short answer: if you need a full invoicing tool with many document types, several users and a direct line to your accountant's Money or Pohoda, iDoklad is the safer choice. If your finances go beyond invoicing (personal spending, investments, the OSVČ vs s.r.o. question), MoneySky covers that in one plan. The rest of this article explains where each one wins and what each costs at your size.
iDoklad is the default invoicing tool for a lot of Czech businesses. It is backed by Seyfor (formerly Solitea), the company behind Money S3, S4 and S5, and iDoklad states that 300,000 entrepreneurs have used it. MoneySky is a younger platform: we launched in 2025 in Prague, and I am the founder, so weigh my view accordingly. The core difference is scope. iDoklad is built around documents. MoneySky is built around your whole financial life, with invoicing as one part of it.
Where iDoklad is the stronger choice
Invoicing depth
iDoklad handles issued and received invoices, advance invoices, credit notes, recurring invoices, tax documents for received payments, quotes (which can be sent as a link) and, from the Oblíbený plan, sales receipts (prodejky) with cash register integration. It also has a price list with stock. MoneySky's invoicing now covers credit notes and tax documents for received advance payments too, but we have fewer document types: no quotes, no sales receipts and no warehouse.
The Seyfor ecosystem and your accountant
From the Základní plan, iDoklad integrates with Money S3, S4, S5, Pohoda and Vario. Your accountant can also get their own login. If your accountant works in Money, tax season is smoother with iDoklad. MoneySky gives accountant-ready exports of invoices, transactions and journal entries for any period, which works, but it is a file handoff rather than a direct integration.
Several users
Základní includes 2 users, Oblíbený 5 and Prémiový 9. MoneySky is priced per account with no team seats. You can run several business entities in one account, but you cannot give staff their own logins.
Apps, AI Inbox and a longer trial
iDoklad has native iOS and Android apps, including receipt capture. In May 2026 it launched Inbox, which extracts received documents with AI from Oblíbený up (3 free extractions, then paid credits) and reads ISDOC and QR documents without credits. The trial is 60 days of Prémiový with no card, versus 14 days for MoneySky. MoneySky is a web app you can install on your phone as a PWA, with unlimited receipt scanning, but no native app.
If you want full-featured invoicing with team access and tight accountant integration, iDoklad is a proven, safe choice.
The gap iDoklad can't fill
A typical freelancer's setup: an invoicing tool, the bank's app, a broker for ETFs, a spreadsheet to keep an eye on the VAT threshold, and an online calculator for OSVČ vs s.r.o. Five or six tools, and none of them connected.
The whole picture
MoneySky syncs your bank accounts through PSD2 open banking (2,686+ banks in the EU, EEA and UK, read-only), syncs supported investment accounts, and values other stocks you add by ticker. Client payments land next to your everyday spending, and invoices are matched to them automatically. Net worth combines business cash, savings and investments. iDoklad's bank matching, by contrast, works through bank e-mail notifications, starts on Oblíbený and does not support mBank.
Tax decisions, not just tax documents
From Oblíbený, iDoklad prepares the VAT return and kontrolní hlášení for upload and supporting data for the income tax return. That is compliance, and it is good. MoneySky prepares Czech filing documents from the same ledger too (VAT filings, income tax return, social and health insurance overviews, with a deadlines calendar), but it also answers the questions before the filing: flat-rate expenses vs actual expenses vs paušální daň with insurance side by side, OSVČ vs s.r.o. on your real numbers, and the VAT threshold (2,000,000 Kč per calendar year) tracked as you go. Fixed assets with tax depreciation and business trips with travel allowances are in there as well.
Personal finance and AI
AI categorisation, auto-tag rules, budgets, subscription detection and sharing accounts and payments with a partner, next to your business money. MoneySky also connects to Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP clients, read-only by default. I found no official MCP server for iDoklad.
How pricing actually compares
Plan | Users | Annual billing, per month | Monthly billing |
|---|---|---|---|
iDoklad Zdarma | 1 | 0 Kč | 0 Kč |
iDoklad Základní | 2 | 187 Kč | 240 Kč |
iDoklad Oblíbený | 5 | 358 Kč | 430 Kč |
iDoklad Prémiový | 9 | 625 Kč | 750 Kč |
MoneySky | 1 account | about €6.66 (€79.90 a year) | €7.99 (about 200 Kč) |
Prices excluding VAT as listed on the providers' websites in October 2026. Check their pricing pages before you decide.
To be fair about it: iDoklad's free plan (5 contacts) costs nothing, and Základní at 187 Kč on annual billing is in the same range as MoneySky while including two users. If you only issue a few invoices and don't need bank matching, that is a fine deal.
The comparison changes once you want bank matching and VAT or income tax outputs, because in iDoklad those start on Oblíbený: 358 to 430 Kč a month. Add a budgeting app like Spendee Premium (129 to 149 Kč a month in the Czech App Store, $5.99 list price) and you are at roughly 490 to 580 Kč, still without investment tracking or a regime comparison. MoneySky is about 200 Kč with everything included. The trade-off is real though: iDoklad's price covers up to 5 users, ours covers one. See the iDoklad price list for details.
What we are honest about
MoneySky is newer and smaller, and iDoklad has a long track record. Our gaps for this comparison:
Fewer document types: no quotes, no sales receipts, no warehouse or stock.
No team seats or multi-user roles.
No native mobile app (installable PWA only) and no offline mode.
No direct integration with Money or Pohoda, only accountant exports.
No double-entry bookkeeping for an s.r.o.
On e-invoicing we are ahead in one specific way: every MoneySky invoice can be downloaded as ISDOC and as Peppol UBL, while iDoklad's site does not mention Peppol. Neither tool sends over the Peppol network. If you take card or cash payments in person, check EET 2.0 (from 1 January 2027): MoneySky has no EET feature, and as of October 2026 I found no EET 2.0 announcement from iDoklad.
If you need inventory, team access or a handoff through Money S3, choose iDoklad.
Who MoneySky is really for
A freelancer or digital entrepreneur whose money management has outgrown invoicing: a side project that became income, an ETF portfolio, perhaps an s.r.o. next to the OSVČ (both fit in one MoneySky account), and the yearly question of which tax regime pays off. MoneySky grows from your first invoice to tax structuring and portfolio tracking without switching tools. If you are comparing invoicing tools more broadly, also read MoneySky vs Fakturoid.
iDoklad is a great invoicing tool. MoneySky is the platform for your whole financial life.
