You are below the threshold. Turnover is counted per calendar year, so the figure starts again from zero on 1 January.

How the threshold is counted

Since 1 January 2025 the Czech VAT Act measures turnover per calendar year rather than over any twelve consecutive months. Crossing 2,000,000 CZK makes you a VAT payer from 1 January of the following year. Crossing the second threshold of 2,536,500 CZK in the same year makes you a payer the day after you cross it.

What counts as turnover

Turnover for this test is your consideration for supplies with a place of supply in the Czech Republic. Not every euro of revenue counts, and some exempt supplies are excluded, which is why the number rarely equals your invoice total exactly.

Watching it continuously

Inside MoneySky the same threshold is tracked against your actual invoices and transactions, and you are notified as you approach it rather than after you have crossed it.

Voluntary registration

You can register before you have to. It is often worth it if most of your clients are VAT-registered businesses and you carry significant input VAT, and rarely worth it if you sell to consumers.

Frequently asked questions

What is the current Czech VAT registration threshold?
The threshold used by this calculator is shown above the input and is currently 2,000,000 CZK of turnover in a calendar year. A second threshold of 2,536,500 CZK triggers registration immediately.
What happens the moment I cross it?
You must file the registration application within 10 working days. Below 2,536,500 CZK you become a VAT payer from 1 January of the following year, above it from the day after you cross it, and you charge VAT from that date.
Does income from outside the Czech Republic count?
Only supplies with a place of supply in the Czech Republic count towards this threshold. Cross-border services to EU businesses usually fall outside it but can create other obligations, so check your specific case.
Can MoneySky track this for me?
Yes. The VAT monitor in the product runs the same calendar-year calculation against your real invoices and bank transactions and warns you before you reach the threshold.
