MoneySky exposes your data through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Your assistant reads your data and, if you allow it, changes data in your account. You choose what it may touch for each area, and anything risky waits for your confirmation inside MoneySky.
Open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste https://moneysky.app/mcp, sign in to MoneySky when asked, choose the permissions and approve.
Open Settings, then Connectors (or Apps) and add a custom MCP server with the address https://moneysky.app/mcp. Sign in to MoneySky, choose the permissions and approve.
In Claude Code run: claude mcp add --transport http moneysky https://moneysky.app/mcp. In Cursor, add the server under MCP settings with the same address. Your browser opens so you can sign in and choose permissions.
For each area you choose None, Read, or Read and write. Read only is the default. The areas are transactions and budgets, invoicing and clients, receipts, investments and net worth, tax and filing, books, and exports. Books and filing also need read access to invoicing, and the books ledger also needs read access to receipts. Invoice and receipt matching and net worth need read access to transactions.
Tools that delete, send, generate documents, run a sync or spend on an external service give your assistant a link instead of acting. Nothing happens until you open the link in MoneySky and confirm. Links expire after 30 minutes.
Under Settings, Connected apps you can change permissions, acknowledge new tools and revoke an assistant. Changing your password or turning off two factor authentication disconnects every assistant.
